Most flowers in the United States are grown in South America an flown to the US in cold storage. Then they are distributed to wholesalers who then distribute to florists. Many florist delivery companies will tell you flowers are coming from the farm, but they are not telling you that farm is quite literally thousands of miles away. Many sensitive flowers simply cannot handle transportation like this, so their availability on the wholesale market to florists and grocery stores is low. They are also more expensive than other options that can be grown in South America. Since we can grow these varieties, our customers get the benefit! 

In addition, we grow for our own pleasure and enjoyment. Many items that we grow and put in our farm arrangements are never sold on the wholesale market because they are too difficult to grow at the scale needed to remain competitive, or the growing methods make them too costly to profit. Once again, subscribers get the benefit of these special varieties that don't even enter our wholesale inventory. This includes many of our fragrant herbs, our native florals, multiple sunflower varieties and gourds.
